Getting To Your Training Venue In Nottingham

By Train
The venue situated in Long Eaton is accessible by train from either Derby station or Nottingham station.

Long Eaton Railway Station
Long Eaton, Nottingham NG10 3GL

From Nottingham, it is approximately 16-mins to Long Eaton, and there are about 42 trains a day. The cost of a ticket is around £5. From Derby, it is approximately 9-mins to Long Eaton and there are about 70 trains a day. Tickets cost around £5 From Long Eaton to the venue is a good 45 min walk, so a taxi would be the best option. There is a taxi rank at the railway station, but it is advisable to pre-book—cost to the hotel around £9.50.

There are buses from the station, my15, Skylink, and Indigo offer service about 30-40 minutes apart, all entail a 12-16 minute walk.

By Car
The venue is centrally located between Derby and Nottingham and easily reached from either city. Situated just off junction 25 on the M1 makes it accessible for those travelling by car from further afield.

Parking at the venue is not a problem. If you are heading into the centre at lunchtime, then you can try these car parks:

Walkability
This is a low-scoring area for walking. Most errands from the venue require a car or taxi.

Accommodation
If you have decided to stay in Nottingham for the SIA training course, you can book at the venue. This is a 4-star contemporary hotel close to the M1, with prices from around £40 per night. The area also has several other hotels within easy reach of the venue, including the

Food & Drink
The hotel has a restaurant, but for more choice, you need to go further afield. Without transport, you have limited choice. The nearest shop is the Co-Op Food on Grasmere Rd; a 10-minute walk away. Within a 10 min drive, there are several restaurants, cafes, fast food or takeaways. Plus, with transport, there is easy access to Tesco Extra & Asda including:

Nottingham offers excellent opportunities for work in the security industry, with private work available for personnel with SIA licenses. Nottingham is a university city, but both cities have ample pubs & clubs requiring security staff and door supervisors. Then there are jobs at Nottingham City airport and both football grounds, alongside a range of work for retail and other business. Getting your SIA licence is the door to opening up numerous opportunities in the security industry, from a part-time job to amazing career opportunities.
