Getting to your training venue in Birmingham

Train

The venue is located to the south of the city in the Tyseley area but is still very accessible by train.

Birmingham New Street

Station St, Birmingham B2 4QA, United Kingdom

Tyseley Train Station

Tyseley, Birmingham B11 2AD, United Kingdom

From the central station at New Street, trains depart to Tyseley every 30 minutes and take 17 minutes to reach Tyseley station. The venue is conveniently located just 300 yards from Tyseley train station. Head out of the station north on to Tyseley Hill Road towards Wharfedale Road. After 150 feet, turn right onto Wharfedale Road and then walk just under 300 feet and turn left onto Kings Road. The venue is on the left.

Parking

There is parking located at the venue for those driving to the course. If you are heading into the city at lunchtime, then there are tons of car parks to choose from:

NCP Car Park Birmingham Grand Central

Hill St, Queens Drive, Birmingham B5 4DQ

Ellis Street Car Park

46 Ellis St, Birmingham B1 1HN, United Kingdom

NCP Car Park Birmingham Gough Street

Gough St, Birmingham B1 1HN, United Kingdom

Walkability

King's Road, where the venue is located, is considered somewhat walkable with a score of 65/100. It means you can run a fair few errands, and you should be able to grab a snack and get to some shops, but you'll need to jump in the car to get some things done.

Accommodation

If you are away from home to take part in the course, there are four closely located and reasonably priced hotels near the venue. Seven minutes away is the Birmingham Yardley Travelodge, where you are likely to get the best deal. Alternatively, Holiday Inn Express is still very close on Coventry Road, the Sure Hotel by Best Western on Yardley Road, and Ababeel Restaurant and Hotel situated closest to the venue on the A41. You can check out last-minute deals here.

Food

There are plenty of places to grab a snack or a hot breakfast or lunch very close to the venue. In fact, there is a Deli Bar inside Fairgate House. Also close is Vic's Cafe. You will pass Vic's cafe on your way to the venue from Tyseley train station. Just a couple of hundred feet from the venue, you can grab a snack even on a short break. They serve English breakfasts and other hot food catering to local workers at great prices. A little bit further just off Wharfedale Road is Tyseley corner cafe.

For a little more variety, head around ¾ mile to Acocks Green, where there are Big John's fish and chips, Caspian's Pizza, Dixy's Chicken & Pizza, and Dil Say Indian. If you have a sweet tooth, you won't be disappointed as there are two eateries catering just for you. Mish Mash desserts serve well, a mish-mash of popular desserts, including crepes, ice cream, cookies, and waffles. Meanwhile, the Dessert Village also offers crepes, waffles, and shakes and cakes, cheesecakes, cookie dough and ten flavours of ice cream.
